Hi, I'm Melinda — and I want to share something real with you.

In 2021, I was in an accident that changed my life forever. I'm a burn survivor, and it left my hands permanently scarred and discolored. For years after, I hid them. I was ashamed of something I had no control over, and I let that shame keep me small.

The Moment That Changed Everything

After a few years of living in that fear, I made a decision. I was going to face it head on. I walked into a professional nail salon, hands trembling, determined to reclaim something for myself.

That day didn't go the way I hoped. The nail tech doing my nails called out my scars — in front of others — and I walked out of that salon feeling ugly, unwanted, and completely broken.

But I also walked out with a decision: I would never let anyone else make me feel that way again.

From That Pain Came a Purpose

I went home and started doing my own nails. What began as an act of self-preservation became a passion. I discovered nail art, nail charms, handcrafted jewelry — and along the way, I discovered a version of myself I hadn't seen in years. One who was creative, capable, and proud of what her hands could create.

Nail'd It By Melinda was born from that moment. Not just as a business, but as a promise — that every woman who comes here will feel safe, seen, and celebrated. No judgment. No shame. Just beauty, crafted with love.
